Cravings Don’t Last Forever

Hi Reader,

Here’s something that might surprise you: most cravings only last about 15 minutes. That’s it. They feel endless, but they’re more like waves—they rise, peak, and pass.

This is called the Craving Curve, and knowing how it works can help you ride out the urge instead of getting swept up in it. When a craving hits, remind yourself: “This is temporary.” Set a timer for 15 minutes, breathe, go for a walk, call someone, or distract your brain with something simple.

The key is to stay present long enough for the wave to crest and fall. Every time you do, your brain learns that you don’t have to give in for the feeling to pass—and that’s powerful stuff.

Cravings may knock, but they don’t have to move in.

One wave at a time,

Duane
